Miles Maxwell Heads to Des Moines, IA

Happy new year to everybody and thanks for taking a minute with us.

I can’t believe it but this little Chicago band is hitting the road. We’ve booked a few shows in Iowa and tonight, we’ll be making our debut in DG’s Tap House in Ames (the home of Iowa State University). On Saturday, we play at the Des Moines Social Club in DM proper.

This is our first trip to Iowa and only our third state after a fun gig in Milwaukee last summer. If you didn’t see our Year in Review video (Youtube link), we played 32 shows in 2018, all within a 45 minute drive of Chicago. While we have loved playing every show, we felt it was time to expand a bit and see how the rest of the country likes what we’re doing. Des Moines was close enough and warmly welcomed us so that’s why.

So, wish us luck and good times out west. Next weekend, we’ll be back for a show at The House Cafe in Dekalb and Reggie’s in South Loop.

Until we meet again, thanks for reading and see you soon!

FAWM: First Part of the Morning

I have long talked a big game about doing a FAWM (February Album Writing Month) but typically other distractions and priorities have prevented me from moving forward. Ever the optimist, I decided to take a stab again in 2024. Today,
